What did you first system consist of?

Mine was 2 12"jl audio W3's

jvc head unit

mtx rt 2400 sub amp

rockford fosgate 0.5 farad cap

and monster cable wiring kit

That system along with $1800 dollars in cd's were stolen not but 2 months after I had it

That was a major bad day

hmmm...let me see if i can remember...

2 pioneer 400w 12's

jensen 400w amp

the rest was factory...

i got that off a friend for like $30 i think...something like that.

Mine was 2 12" 400watt pioneers, The real old Ones, a PG 150watt amp, and old Pioneer Tape Deck, Jensen Speakers

radio from a chrystler new yorker (i had a dodge aries); a sigle crunch 12" in a huge sealed box.....beat that...no amp

Matt's stereo, pyramid tape deck, no front speakers and a pioneed IMPP that was mainly a epoxy cone for a subs put into a hole of a piece of wood screwed to the trunk's wheel wells, ran of back speaker wires

I think thats a great system...especially since it is your first..you mustve did your research

well I did a lil research for the head unit, subs and sub amp

for the coaxs I went to my local shop (this is before I knew anything) and listened to different sets and picked these (the most expensive they had on display) and my buddy that worked there recommended the 4 channel alpine amp...it was one they had setup as a demo, so I got it pretty cheap

me and my other buddy (who got me into car audio) put all the speakers in and we got the shop to wire the amp, b/c something about I have a factory amp and they had to use a special tool to see what wires were connected to which speakers

I also bought a alpine 7873, but this year I sold it and got the 7995

put it in myself and put my subs and jbl in by myself

when I get my new car, I'm planning on getting something along the lines of

2 brahma 12's

same jbl

jl xr 3 way in front and xr 2 way in back (or other good comps, gonna do a lot of research and listening)

2 jl 300/2

alpine 7998

and as I get more money I might get a better sub amp and add in some dvd equip

Finally heard a set of XR components in a 6.5" i believe. they ****ing rock!!!! they sound awsome, nice little bit of oomfh in bass and such!!! It rocks, surprised tha **** out of me.

My first system - pioneer 45Wx4 hu - no remote, no detach face, no base/trebel settings! .. jensen dual 10" bandpass on a jensen 720W 2 channel (actually sounded pretty good!) and pioneer speakers all the way around (still using these 8 months later) .... since then i have used 4 lightning audio DVC 10's, 2 lightning audio 12's and a fosgate power hx2 12 subs.. pioneer 760W 2 channel amp and 3 lightning audio 1000W monoblock (all same model - NOT STABLE AT 1 OHM!! NO MATTER WHAT THE SPECS SAY - I BLEW 2) amps before i have my recent setup (see sig.)

Prahaps the gains were too high for it to perform @ 1 ohm?
