im thinking of goin with a hdc3 but well see. hey how doe these sub do when you underpower them? when i had my 2.5 i had a sundown 1200d

was that on the dash or the kick? i'm hitting 45.5 daily and 48.3 spl in the kick

That was on the dash but with 1 door open in an extended cab f150. It was an SQ box though, not SPL. I mean look at it:

yeah i have a discus 1500. i have heard they need at least 2000 to come alive for the 15 or 18. i may call dj tomorrow and get his thoughts also.

i just sent him a email, to see if i get the Aluminum Coils and only send the sub 800 at 2 ohms. im gona have a issue getin somthing that will power the sub at 2 ohms. i mean i would need like 1500 at 2 ohms then another battery. im sorry to change it from the 2.5 to the hdc3 but i wana go with 3 cubic feet net at 35 hz and wire the sub to 2 ohms off a audipipe 1500d . the sub would see 800 at 2 ohms and it would b less on my electrical as well.

You could definitely get to the 150 club with 1 of them.

no prob. i wonder if my box will be too big for the 18? granted it is more like 5.5 after bracing and such. i wonder if he can make a dual 2 and not just a dual 1 in the alum coil? i'll give him a ring tomorrow and find out.

i know if you build a bigger box and send it less power that can make up for the less power you might have. im talkin 800 watts for the sub i wana get where it can take 1500-2000 all day of clean power.

Makes sense, It's just I've heard an MB Quart in 1.75 @ 32hz and my DD has much better range and hits the lows better so I'm sticking with my higher tuning.

Nope, never really wanted to try it. I generally like to keep around manufacturer specs which is 40 from DD.
