McLaren..........japanese? Did not think so actually still don't but could be wrong LOL.

Well part of your hint was that it was a Japanese car........PHUCKER! LOL thanks for the bit of worthless info tho I know I could use just a bit more of it in my brain!

Ok ok I give you that, but somehow there in the midst of all the useless shit floating in my head I got it mixed up there that it was a jap company. Oh well.

I would place kenwood about the same area as Jensen, sony Xplod, American Legacy and other "cheap to buy" brands. One thing that alot of people don't realize is that if they have a choice between a RF 300w amp for $500, or a Jensen 300w Amp for $150 the jensen is the better deal. With RF and the other "top" name brands you pay for the name on the product not whats inside. I tore a pyramid amp apart and what did i find:

regulated power supply - Good

105C caps - Good

8 transistors - More is better

Strange how a 800watt pyramid amp can sell for $180 while the RF equiv. is close to $1000 if not over.

In the very end it all comes down to, what do you want:

If you want to say I have Rockfor Fosgate. then by all means buy their stuff.

But if you want a system that sounds just as good buy Jensen, pyramid, Kenwood. You'll have alot more money left over

What???????//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

How could you put kenwood with brands like jensen or even pyramid and pyle?????

Do you think that a team like McLaren would choose crap for their comunications?

I think that kenwood is in the same range of pionner, and the excelon line is as good as the premier line, they both sound great!

Show me a pyle or jensen HU that has 4.5v RCA outputs and 105db signal to noise ratio, and amzaing features like the excelon, you can´t why?, because kenwood DO makes nice equipment, even their low end products are really good and much better than pyle.

Maybe it´s not a Nakamichi or an Eclipse HU, but sure it will make a nice HU for any system!!

LOL well Kenwood yeah ok they are fine and dandy, but the excelon? Yeah they are nise units at face value, but their moving bits and pieces tend to fall apart a hell of a lot easier than a good bit of other brands. Have not seen nearly half as many problems with the Pioneer or any other HU for that matter in that price range of repair.
