Gettin warm?

Noticed today that after playing some heavy bass songs the middle of my sub was warm to the touch. Is that normal after heavy playing?

The system specs are in my sig, running it at 1-ohm.

Was playing beatz 4 my van and rep your city.

yes, the voice coils will get warm. with 1000+w on a heavy bass song that will happen.

Some subs will get "warm", some will get to where you CANT touch the dust cap the coils get so hot

I wouldn't really say that its normal. It does happen, but just means that you're pushing ur subs pretty hard. Just remember that the hotter it gets the closer the sub is to failing and smelling the lovely smell of voice coils burning.

 

I can beat on my subs for extended periods of time and they will barely even luke warm.
