JL 1000/1 VS. Alpine PDX 1.1000

Also the JL makes rated power @ 11-14.5 volts, I think the PDX requires 14.4 to get the full 1000.
Yeah, but the alpines are underrated so even at a lower voltage you will still get the full 1000 listed watts.

1293 is awsome for that alpine, I wonder whats the rms on the JL 1000/1, anyoe knows?
Probably around what it's rated for. Remember that JL's RIPS system is a highly regulated power supply. Which is why it's rated to make the same power from 1.5-4ohms and from 11-14.5 volts.

I like the JL's bass eq, it helps a LOT with tuning in the lower bass, it controls the boost and not the overall gain.

My vote is stay w/ JL its a better amp.
Yup, the JL's run cooler then the PDX's

I think the PDX is a great amp, since it will fit anywhere, but if you got teh space go with a JL, since it will do rated at any voltage, and it has more settings then a PDX amp. So finer tunning

So IMO:

Overall:

JL>PDX>PG

Size:

PDX>JL=PG

Cooling

JL>PDX>PG

Sound Customization

JL>PG>PDX

Looks

PDX>JL=PG

Yeah a regulated power supply giving same output from 11 to 14.4 volts is something the alpine is missing.

Just keep the JL and mount it in the roof/headliner of the truck, problem solved.
Just got my new dual amp kits from kicker, its the 0/1 gauge hiperflex wire... will see if I mount the amps on the rear wall behind the rear seats.

I'd like to see something to back this up
Every birthsheet that I have seen for a PDX amp shows significantly more power than whats it rated.

My friends 1000 showed 1170 @14.4V on the birthsheet... So, yes you will get at LEAST the 1000 rated watts.

the PDX4.100 usualy rate from 120-130 @ 14.4.

They are underrated
