Nahh i doubt the car could take that charge its like 60ish amps if i recall correctly....i own a 1995 Civic 4dr currently....maybe the higher models have bigger alts

Mines a DX and i believe its like 65amp

get a H.O. alt. I fried the alt. on my 99 accord with just about the same power, and mine had I think a 95 or 105 amp from the factory.

The electrical system is pathetic in these cars. I have a 94' Civic... mine is getting two large HO alternators and 3x Kinetik HC-2400 daily (up to 6 for competition).

I know that isn't normal... but what I do suggest for daily would be at least a 160-amp HO alternator, the best under-hood battery you can get (Duralast Gold from Autozone is a pretty good battery) and a secondard large battery like a Kinetik HC2000:

* 160 amp alt from reputable seller, 70 amps at idle... so more than factory peak at an 800 rpm idle.

thank you ppl am gona keep looking for a car i guess not hondas lol well if is a v6 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif but any recomendatons of a car within 2500 to 3000 am in a really bad need of a car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

im probably going to be getting a civic also.

97+ though. my girlfriend had a '00 lx with the 60 or 70 amp alty. we had the x600.1 in there with the big 3 and only at full tilt would we get dimming.

ive read of people running 2500d's on stock electrical with no issues.

you could look into accords , celicas , integras etc. all good for a first car. parts are generally easy to find and get **** loud.

my $0.02.

You can hook up a 2500D on a stock electrical system, sure... but you are looking at 225-250+ amps of current to actually get 2500 watts from the amp. Which they aren't getting from a stock electrical system in a Civic, period... ESPECIALLY if they don't report massive dimming issues.

To properly feed that sort of current demand you really need a system at least like I described above... 160+ amp HO alternator and a big reserve battery like a Kinetik HC2000, equivalent, or larger.
