Sorry to use such drastic measures to get your attention. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But i made a graph for the next time this comes up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

It's actually kinda interesting to see everything laid out at once, both of my 12's only have the surface area of a single solobaric 15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Cone area isn't everything, FYI.

I beat a guy that had 4 12's with just one 10" in my truck.

Though this kind of thing does come up alot, so i guess a graph is helpful. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This thread=teh ghey //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Also are you trying to say your 3 10s have more cone area than 2 15s?

lol y did u make a graph, you should have made a table, it would have been easier to read
Hehehe. I was feeling motivated, with nothing to actually accomplish. That, and your calculator does a table, trying to figure out how to express it graphically was the interesting part. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I guess i should spend less money on stereos and more on hobbies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

what do u have and what does he have?
Nothing. He just made that thread title to get people's attention. Which it did. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

indeed cone area isnt everything...at my last comp I beat a guy with 2 15s...I have 2 12's. Everytime this subject come up it basically boils down to the quality of your install and your competitors install. and Tommy 150 with 1 10" FTW
Should be up to a 151 soon enough:up2somet:

I, myself, have 2 type x 12's. There's just been quite a few posts here lately about how setup A has more/less surface area than setup B.

And the graph obviously isn't accurate in the respect of actual speaker output, only how much cone area you'd lose/gain between various speaker configurations.

And i chose 3x10 vs. 2x15 specifically to grab people's attention, because there's been a lot of talk of "don't get two 15's, they're too sloppy, get 3 10's instead, because they're just as big, and tighter."

Further more specific, in my own thread, people told me to get 2 12" l7's rather than 2 15" l7's, but the graph shows ~2x more output from the 15's, so i think i'll keep looking for a big enough box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Let's see how many more people come in and tell me 3 10's aren't as big as 2 15's before they actually read the thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
