ok... i know a capacitor boosts signal when you have a long note to play... but is it worth it? does it drain your battery, or save your battery? and if so what farad amout do i need?

if im only getting a jl 500/1 amp does that need a capacitor? thats not alot of power that i need.

do capicators make anything sound better?

hah i got a lotta questions, i dont know too much about them.

Hey bud, the genral agreement on here is that if you don't have a good charging system then a cap will hurt your system not help it. I wouldn't think that you would ever need one for that amp. there is a thread on here that is all about caps, look it up. very detailed. hope this helps

Exactly. Before my high output alternator I had a stock 65 amp unit and I was running the JBL BP1200.1 and I thought a cap would help so I installed one and only made my charging system worse because not only it needed to supply power to the amps but now the cap too. After the H.O alternator the cap helped significantly. I don't think you need a cap for that JL 500.1

what if im getting a jl 500/1 and a jl 300/4. i think both are class d amplifier and are pretty efficient. i do have a stock alternator... what do you thik it would put out on a 2002 ford mustang?

hey vette lover, you like the c3 stingray? thats my dream car (that and maby the shelby cobra 427) but im gonna get that and fix it up with about 20k ( a crap one is under 7k) and that would sweet ***.

snitchelgroovin, your 300/4 can't be class d.....class d makes an audible noise that you cannot hear unless it is on highpass, hence why class d amps are all sub amps...and even if it was, class d is more efficient than class a/b so you would be fine then...

well i have a connection... i can probabally get it done for 80. it would be fine with a 300/4 (jl) amp for a lil while right? cause im gonna get that soon and in a couple months put my sub in with 500/1 amp.

getting it done would never hurt....but if sq is your goal it may not be necessary....wankers should get it done, (people who feel the need to have as many woofers and amps crammed into a daily driver) but sq fiends really dont really have that much amperage draw....also upgrade all factory grounds (main wires under hood, like the one that goes to your engine block, battery to body etc...) to the same size as your main power wire, most people over look that, your amps need lots of power, but also need very good grounding as well...

Class D by itself does not make audible noise. It is the switching power supply that passes into the audible signal chain. The reason you don't see *many* class D full range amplifiers (there are some) is because the switching frequency needed on the power supply itself is very high, and pretty cost-ineffective.

yeah i thought there was more to it, i had read something in as&s about it, but i couldn't find the isssue to explain it, thanks though!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
