I have a Hertz HX 300 D. The HX 300 D is a dual voice coil subwoofer. I am looking at running 500 watts to each voice coil from the sub channel of Alpine PDX-V9 of two amps.

Other than matching the output gains, does anyone see a problem in doing this? At 4ohm there would be total of 1000 watts on a subwoofer that has a 1200 watts peak and 600 watts RMS.

Additinally, no need to reference "max" anything as those specs are useless. Most of know how to look at specs for a given speaker, amp, HU, etc...

You don't need two amps. The speakers come with crossovers to help protect the tweeters.

Perhaps you changed something without mentioning it here? Maybe a loose turn on line? I dunno man...but we'll take it. Hopefully it keeps working. 👍
