Hi, this is my first car and I'm a bit new to this.

So I want a better sound system in my car.

In the front there are 2 original speakers I think. They sound bad. so I think I will replace them. but I don't know how or what speaker I need.

At the back there are two aftermarket speakers that Daddy had lying around and we installed them. I don't know anything more about them, except what is on the pictures. They are connected directly to the main unit and not to an amplifier or something. These speakers sound good and I want to keep them. maybe i need an aplifier or something true? I do not know.

i dont want to spend alot of money on this car beacause its old.

the car model is an 1998 volkswagen polo 1.4 comfort +.

The speakers in the dash look like 3” or 3.5”. Measure across the speaker to see what size it is. then measure down into the holes in the dash on both sides. The smallest depth will tell you how deep of mounting depth you can use for new speakers.

Once you know the width and depth of your mounting space, post it on here, and you will get some recommendations of decent speakers to install. partsexpress.com will probably be your best resource for this.

It looks like a single din head unit, so go to sonicelectronix.com and choose a new one that has the features you are looking for. You can also check Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up app, and Let Go app to try and find a great deal.

Hope this gets you headed in the right direction.

measurements:

width: 10cm, 3,94inches

depth: 5cm, 1.97inches

This is my pick for the head unit:

Pioneer MVH-X580DAB

Another option if you can find the equivalent in the EU of the Pioneer DEH-80PRS? That will also play cd's along with what you have in that option but doesn't do android and the newer iphones but does do bluetooth, sd card and usb.

https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-80PRS

After looking at Pioneer's EU site that is a nice head unit just missing the ability to play CD's is all. If that isn't important to you then go for it. Some nice head units over there that is for sure.

Understood, if you looked I said it is a nice head unit that it is just missing the ability to play cd's is all. Also idk maybe someone can ship a DEH-80PRS to you that is closer to the east coast? Right now they are 199.99 US for a factory refurbished one on eBay, but then you have import fees over there as well.

This listing will ship overseas to the EU, maybe that would help if you really wanted one if not then you made a decent choice.

Looks like you may need to make some preps. in order to get some better sound.Deadening some doors and flooring will help for better sound and maybe finding some enclosures for the rear speakers will help quite a bit.Id start with a real budget, and do some research on what you can find within that budget/realistic budget.Hmm 1998 is Old huh?I guess mines been running at 600 RPM at Idle too long for me to notice Just how old it really is and at 75 MPH @ just under 2000 rpm with 271K on it.?? Maan Old???hmm

This is what Id throw in there till I figured out of I were keeping the car or doing any upgrades.Should sound lots better than what you have in there now. Look for a decent 8 ga or 4 ga amp wiring kit. should be all you need at the moment Thats what Id throw in there temp at the moment

Get you some 6.50 pods up front and get some sound up front, even a tweet pod for pillars or surface mount some tweets and get a pod for a single 6.5 so you dont have do much drilling, and cutting.Just an option for you.

NOTE: Not my STORE NOR AM I Promoting such place for exposure or sales.Just an example of generic Modifications that can be done to the doors of a vehicle for placing larger drivers/speakers up front on a vehicle.
