Looking for advice about some options for an amp to run the sub (or subs) I have.
First off, I have a set of old (at least 15 years old but in excellent shape) Audiobahn AW1005 subs (900watt RMS each) - not going to buy new subs, just work with me on these, please...
I think I've decided to break up the pair and put one of each in two different vehicles (2001 Audi A6 Avant and either a 2003 Suburban or 1993 Honda Accord).
I have done a bit of looking around and I have found a few amps that look like they'd fit the bill and just wanted your opinions and input - maybe even some recommendations, if you have them:
Kenwood KAC 9106D (new $299 vs $169 factory refurbished) - 500w RMS x1 @ 4ohms/ 1000w RMS x1 @ 2ohms
JBL GTR 1001 ($179 new) - 700w @ 4 ohms/ 1000w @ 2ohms
Infinity Kappa K1000 ($199 new) - same as above (700/1000)
Also, not sure about the size of box to use or to go vented/ported or sealed.
Any input is appreciated.
