I am restoring an 87 Jeep.  I want to put in an oem head unit for restoration purposes.   I can go on ebay and find a chrysler/jeep period correct tape deck with no problems. However, I found a Jeep unit that was made by Alpine (https://www.ebay.com/itm/173584560686?ViewItem=&item=173584560686&ssPageName=ADME:X:COCE:US:3160) .  Will this unit be any better in quality or offer me anything that a standard OEM unit from 1987 wont?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Not at all, amplifiers have gain control to attenuate the output to safe levels.

I've moved this post to installations. Can't work out how to delete it here.
