I've got a 2007 Range Rover. This is the model that switched to the fiber optic system in 2006. It appears to be different that the systems in the RR sports and LR3s.

I have been completely unable to find reliable information on how to upgrade the stereo system in this car. I do not want to gut the entire system and rewire everything. What I would like to do is add an aftermarket head unit that retains steering wheel controls, backup camera (if possible). It looks like this was relatively easy to do on the 2003 to 2005 models, but when they switched to the fiber optic Harman Kardon logic 7 system In 2006, it got much more difficult.

I have been able to find the wiring harnesses below, but I have been unable to find any reports of anybody actually using these on my era of range rover.

Anybody with experience upgrading a stereo system on a 2007 Range Rover? It is probably similar to the newer systems used on BMWs, porches, and Mercedes.

It is a Harman Kardon Logic 7 fiber optic system. Please help! The range rover forums have not been helpful.

Unfortunately that is for RR Sport and LR3. RR sport is on the LR3 platform.

I am pretty confident that they didn't 'forget' to list the Range Rover (non-sport) -- and it is in fact not compatible for various reasons.
It doesn't look like there will be any difference if they're both fiber and have the same aftermarket amplifier and speakers.
