Narrowed down my decision

Recommended Posts

Decided to list my RF T1500-1 for sale and switch to a DC1.2k. Planning to run this on 2 10’s in a custom enclosure. My question is...are DC level 2 subs comparable to the Sundown SA10’s? I’m not looking for window flexing spl just hard hitting when I want it and sq on the daily. Is one better then the other or is it one of those “you can’t lose with either” type situations?

I would go with SAs over the DCs personally. Didn't care for my LVL3s but loved my SAs.

I would also pick up the Soundqubed 2200 for the same price as that DC 1200.

too many freq at once, burn the coil, we all know, over 40-50hz, its all coilburning material.

Hmm...didn’t consider that brand. Why’s that?

Double the power for the same price. Amps are super reliable. I have had 6 of their amps and ran two of the 2200s at .25 ohm each for months no problem. They are tanks. $400 for 1200 watts is insane.

Would that be too much power for those SA’s though? I’m installing in a Dodge Ram Crew Cab underseat application so sub choices are limited. What about electrical upgrades needed?

Always better to have more power than you need. Can set gains perfectly clean and still have headroom for impedance rise and voltage drop.

I would do the Big 3 and run a nice AGM front battery at the least.

Well now that popwarhomie mentioned the soundqubed amp I’m on the fence if the 1.2k is what I want for those subs. Thinking I may need more power.

Well with what I’m going to run in my truck the DC won’t have enough mmph to run those SA 10’s anyways. I’ll keep the RF.

Keep what you have. Getting that DC amp would be a downgrade. You would be spending more money and losing power. Those DC amps are WAY overpriced.
