2017 Toyota Corolla SE Build Log

My upcoming project is a 2017 Toyota Corolla SE. I want your guys opinions and input every step of the way.

My goal with this is to have one of the loudest, cleanest, daily driving sedans in the Midwest. I want 150 - 155 DB daily on music. I'm not sure if this is possible yet but we shall see soon find out.

Here's what I have so far...

Iraggi 340 AMP HO Alt.

Pioneer AVH 600ex

Will update later with pics and equipment ideas.

That’s pretty ambitous. I have a 2016 corolla so I have an idea what you’re working with cabin wise. You need to go atleast a C pillar wall if you wanna achieve 50-55’s. I would go for 2 12’s with big motors and dump alot of power to them. Emphasize on box design. What’s your budget looking like for this project?

You don't think I could get 2 15's? I was thinking 2 12's. Probably something like the FU Audio 1500s. I hear they can take a ton of power..665 oz magnets.

My budget is around 4k.

Here's what I am thinking so far...

Mids and Highs:

Pioneer GM 8604 bridged @ 300 watts x 2 @ 4 ohm

PRV Audio 6MR500-NDY-4

Tymphany BC25SC08-04

If I can get away with just having fronts then I will go active off the head unit. No passive crossovers if I can avoid it. I might do some rear fill but I don't think it'll be worth the trouble.

I knew you were gonna say 2 15's.. lol. The only way for 15's to work is if you went infinite baffle in which case you'll be louder with 2 12's ported in ideal conditions. Either way would be kick azz, but based on your goals you're gonna have to dive a little deeper into the water with an emphasis on box design. Yea you look to be within budget with the selection you have. You're on the right path. I have a feeling that you might have to build the box from inside the trunk cuz it's gonna take up alot of space. The problem is the trunk opening is kinda small on these type of cars. You got everything else figured out, just focus on enclosure.. That will be the key to your success.

I put 2 Zv4s 12s in a 16 corolla on an FSD 3800 with two Northstar 220s in the back.  No way two 15s would work. I think you are going to be disappointed if you are trying to get anywhere close to a 55 on music with that equipment.

What about 4 10s? 3 12s even? Something that doesn't require a lot of space like sundown subs. I think 2 12s will work to get 150 if I give em enough power. With enough batteries I can really get some beefy subs. I'm thinking of doing an adjustable port as well. Maybe tune it to like 35hz or 37hz. Then have a port extender if you wanna go to like 30hz for more low music.

Pics of the car. Pretty basic. Gonna start with the front stage and nothing in the rear deck. I might make some custom rear door pods at a later date.
