Hey everyone I hope I put this in the right category.

Let me start by saying that I pretty much know nothing about amplifiers and subwoofers other then the fact that subwoofers create bass and Amps power said subs to make said bass, with that out of the way let me tell you my predicament.

I have a focal fpp 1000 amplifier ( http://www.focal-america.com/product/fpp-1000/ ) right now that is currently powering 2 Clarion pxw 1051 10" subs ( https://www.clarion.com/ca/en/products-personal/speaker/PXW1051/ ) (sort of), let me explain. So with my current set up right and I listen to my music for about 10 mins before I assume that my amp shuts off and I have no bass, about 10 - 15 minutes later my bass is back for about 3 minutes before it shuts off again and it does the same this over and over. I always assumed it was because the amp was getting too hot. But I was recently told (last week) that my amplifier can't properly power my subs it's shutting down as a type of safety feature to prevent my amp from frying itself.

I also found out (last weekend) that my two Clarion subs are (I hope I got this right) dual coils? And I've only had half the subs wired properly meaning I only had one set of wires running to the sun instead of two sets, (I never wired them myself I got them off a friend who claims to know what he's doing) as a result of the improper wiring one of the subs was fried and one of the two coils doesn't work anymore (I took it to a car audio store and the guy there told me that after testing them both.) So 1 out of 2 of my subs has both could working properly and the other one has a fried coil so I'm looking for two new subs since  Clarion doesn't make this subwoofer anymore.

I was wondering what 10" subs I should get that my amp can power and not constantly shut off on me.

I hope that what I wrote makes sense to you guys.

By the specs. Looks like that amp is stable down to 2ohm mono @ 500 rms What are the measurements of your sub woofer enclosure? What vehicle do you have it in?You can do a pair of SVC 4 ohm subs,a pair of DVC 2 ohm subs, single 4,or a DVC 4 ohm sub woofer with a Radiator, or a single sub by sealing off the other opening if it meet the criteria for a single sub of DVC 4ohm.That enclosure measurements will really need be known to get the proper sub/subs in there to get most out of what you have. Ported?Or Sealed?

Oh boy, you might as well be speaking Chinese cause I don't understand the first 3/4 of your explanation lol, sorry.

I got the measurements of my sub box. Height is 12" (30.48 cm) length is 27 3/4" (70.485 cm) width is 13" (33.02 cm) on the top of the box and 15" (38.1 cm) on the bottom of the box.

My sub box is very similar to this design.

I have the subs set up in the trunk of my 2000 Acura Integra, basically there is enough room for my subs and that's it.

ok so it's a 500rms amp at 2 ohm. so whatever subs u get they need top be 4ohm svc or d2 so u can wire each to 4 ohm keep that in mind no matter what else u do.. just for fun what is gain set at on amp? make sure not crazy high is all..

that box is roughly 2.5 cu, ft. for a pair of tens.Prob tuned around 35-38 htz? Not knowing the demensions of the port leaves us unknown of tuning.Prob be decent for a pair of Sound Qubed HDS 210s

Out of Stock at the moment for two 2 ohm DVC subs but should surfice.Ill look at other options.

I think a pair of these will be just fine in your box you have and should be just fine on that amp you have for now.Just my 2 cents

You need to get to 2 ohm Stable for the amplifier you have for a pair of woofers..two DVC 2 ohm subs or two SVC 4 ohm subs

A pair of these will work wired down to 2ohm.I have a single 10 a DVC 4 ohm sub I put in a neighbors vehicle in 1.6 cubes at approx 34 htz with approx 400 rms and it sounded very nice.for the $.A pair would prob do just fine in the enclosure you showed a pick of and be just fine on your amp you have at 2 ohm stable
Well thank you very much for the assistance audiobaun I'll be sure to give you an update once I have everything bought and wired up.
