Hello!

I have just bought the following items:

-2x 7" Denovo Audio Anarchy midbass woofers for my front doors

- 2x Alpine SPS-619 for rear

I'll be ordering the subwoofer soon as well. And I'm now in the market for tweeters. I am wondering what are some good tweeters I can put on my dash? I want great, clean sound, not necessarily loud. I am willing to spend $200-250 on a set MAX, lower is better!

Thanks!

BND

you're going to need a tweeter that you can cross fairly low, maybe 2500hz or so, i would buy these:

https://www.parts-express.com/peerless-by-tymphany-xt25sc90-04-1-dual-ring-radiator-tweeter--264-1014

they are cheap and they handle power well, and they sound really really good!

there are a lot of people that have used these and really like them:

Love them. Love them very very much. The deal of a life time. But at 2.5k where I am you have to be easy with the power, but they don’t need much anyway. It like every ring radiator they much be on axis

Just bought the Peerles by Tymphany. Should be here within 3 days. May I ask, however, what the best way to mount these would be? I'm looking at tweeter pods/holders to mount on the dashboard. But I've also seen people drill directly into their dash. What is the preferred method? I was told I should have them facing me so I feel like pods/holders on the dash facing the driver are the best idea.

Please let me know!

Ask losisatool, he is more knowledgeable than I am, he says you should mount them on axis. I would think this is how they are designed, as they don’t disperse the way a dome tweeter does. My older model polk Lsi speakers actually utilize a ring radiator tweeter made by vifa, there are a few different models but I’m sure they are all very similar. They are quite airy and detailed. I love the way they sound. You’ll love them.

return those, get the alpine, they are WAAAAY better. I've had a lot more time playing with the alpine holy sh*t this thing is sound quality, detail and clarity monster and gets loud.

I might actually throw these into my van and see how they perform. Might have a contender to beat my massive ct2s

Done, althout I will be running without tweeters for the next 4 weeks since I am moving back home in 1 week. Hopefully the tweeters missing won't make the audio too crappy for the time being. Once I get settled up back home in PA, I'll make sure to order there and install them. Also, how DO you mount tweeters unless you get pods to hold them? Should I cut holes in my dash?

Thanks!

Cheap tweeter pods tutorial. Dont cut anything. The tweeters must fire directly right at your head/ ears and try to keep it from too close of a surface aka on the dash or windshield because tweeter sound waves can bounce and reflect off surfaces giving unwanted peaks and resonances.

It all depends on the tweeter. Not all tweeters perform best on axis in car. For instance, I have a set of Audison violino, they are actually designed to be used off axis.

But a ring radiator isn’t round, so the dispersion isn’t there like it is in a dome since midrange and high frequencies are directional.

Tons of options in that budget, including the cost of installation,

It'll look like a "Hawaiian professional" did your install then 🤣

No problem. I think alot of the issues I see on here are people aren't differentiating between AC (music) and DC voltage.
