Impedance matching 2 Ω or 4 Ω

Hi guys!

I bought a Rockford Fosgate amp (T1000x5ad) and it provides the following output options for the sub:

400x1 @ 4Ω

600x1 @ 2Ω

600x1 @ 1Ω

I think of putting a 10" sub which has 600W RMS

There are 2 models, the DVC of 2Ω (T1D210) and the DVC of 4Ω (T1D410)

In the case of 2Ω, I have to make a parallel connection in order to have a final impedance of 1Ω

In the 4Ω, I have to make a parallel connection in order to have a final impedance of 2Ω

My doubts are:

Which sub should I use?

Are there differences using a certain impedance?

2 Ω is better or worse than 4 Ω?

Changing the impedance changes quality?

Thanks in advance!

Amp: (T1000x5ad)

Sub: (T1D210) or (T1D410)

Running it at 2 ohm is less strain on the amp but if you look at the birthsheet it still makes more power at 1ohm.

To the ear you won't hear a difference and that sub can handle a good bit more than 600w.

Also I'd look into more brands than just Rockford. They make good equipment but you can get more for your money

Looks like he's in Brazil. Other countries typically are limited on brands. OP do you have access to more brands to choose?

Yes, here we have more brands but those are very poor in quality

JL audio is very hard to find...

Focal is way too expensive

JBL here people complain about quality (since it is produced here by Selenium and not by JBL itself in the us)

Those are the major brands

The other brands are poor in quality

People here usually uses Rockford Fosgate because it’s easier to find

And many projects are made using those

(Instagram search @_audioquest and see the projects done using RF)

There was a guy at Slamology with 2 T1 12s in an 8th order on a t2500bdcp doing 151.xxdb in a late 90s square body Volvo wagon. I was surprised those subs can get that loud. Just goes to show how important a good box design is.

No problem. I think alot of the issues I see on here are people aren't differentiating between AC (music) and DC voltage.

Thanks! It's what made sense to me. Just wanted to make sure.
