Sealed vs ib

I would go IB. But while your at it go larger subs unless your height restricted.

I had 2 JBL gto 15s IB on 600 rms and it sounded great. Just a great response. Could play anything I wanted and it always sounded good.

Swapped to a better single 18 IB and it was even better.

I don't know if your going to find a sub that will be good IB for 100 each though.

1200 watts is way to much for IB. A few hundred is plenty.

IB is a lot of work but if the trunk is big enough it is the absolute best sub configuration.

I would contact JBL and ID. I know the Q does well but it’s not $100

currently gathering equipment for an old school alpine/ppi/adire brahma 15mk2 ib install using a newly acquired mrv-1507 (900rms) on sub duty in my girl's car (newer dart, better for travel).

power needs to be lower, but overhead is nice for certain frequencies. ib sounds incredible and i should have enough processing to tame that bull.

If you had to choose sealed vs infinite baffle for 2 12s on 1200 watts at 1 ohm with a budget of $100 a sub which you choose and what sub? 1 cubic foot a sub sealed.
whats up man., i'm 30 miles from you.. my son in law is at bragg.. man 1cf is tiny and so is $100 lol., with both those and power in mind maybe pioneer pro 3003 (they only come in d4 so amp must be 1 ohm stable).. what amp do u have? i have ported one here if u want to hear it sometime but 2 in small sealed won't be quite as loud.. most others i can think of are around $150- $250 each like daytons, nvx, image dynamics etc..

which 18 did you use?

this install isn't for me. Asking for someone local. I could think of much besides sundown e/sa series from yard sale or pyle blue wave. They have a sounstream tn 1200.1.

My install is the signature below. But I'm probably going to build a IB in my car as well. The current system is destroying it.

What is your peak freq in that Mustang? I'm building a strictly spl system to put in a 17 Ecoboost.

Currently 33hz. But my car also has a ton of deadener and foam in it. My peak also shifts a lot with box position. port to the passanger side back corner was the highest and side firing on driver side of trunk was the lowest and loudest.

Wow thats low lol. I was figuring the car peaks in the mid 40s. I'm about to build a sealed box to test resonance. I think the final box will be a crx style box with external aero ports. Was thinking of subs forward ports rear or subs to the driver side, ports to the pass side. I know I'll have to do lots of testing and rebuilding. I'm just hoping I can get a decent # for slamology.

No problem. The Dayton ultimax is one of the better sounding sealed subs I’ve heard. I kinda want to try the 18 in my ride.
