Help Choosing What To Buy For My First Aftermarket Audio Build?

Hi Guys,
My name is Andrew, I'm 18, and I have been spending about the last year looking into enhancing the audio quality in my car. I have:

2010 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5t without a CD-changer.

I don't really know what configurations are good and I'm trying to keep a fairly low budget as I'm new to this. I also seem to have a problem with knowing the depth of my front, lower door speakers. Crutchfield, the site I have been mainly shopping around at says that the lower front door speaker depth allotted is 1.151" whereas websites like Pioneer and Kicker both say that the depth of all doors is ~3". Please let me know if anyone has more information about the door depth

well right off the bat to save u few 4 on amp get jbl gtx 500 like $100 it tested way higher than rated power., u can even get pioneer 8601 that does over 800rms @1 ohm (so u can get different subs later and already have more power) it does 500rms @ 2ohms as well and u can get that on ebay amazon walmart $100 or so (guy here got one for $91 recently i think).. u can get better subs and box for like $300 so save $100 on amp and get as good or better amp and spend more on the subs..
