I don’t use prefab boxes.. A buddy told me he was going to buy a “A-trend pro box”.. Said he read some “reviews” about them.. I’m sure there’s nothing special about them.. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything

Pretty much this. Your typical mainstream low quality brands might work for every day listening and don't give a ratsass about lows or anything special. However, a higher end brand such as DC Audio and Sundown Audio I would strongly suggest a custom enclosure.
