Choosing the right High Put Alternator

I have a 2002Chevrolet Surburban LT & i've been doing work not only the matainance of my truck but installing the system. Im running 2 DVC 15' Kicker CompVrs in a sealed box that are 2ohms on a hifonics brutus bxi2006 2000watt super class d mono amp. I wired them parallel & in series down 2 1ohm also tried jus parallel @ 2ohm & both ways when i raise the volume @ a certain point the amp shuts down. I read its because I need a high output Alternator. I do have a yellow top optima battery but my alternator is only 105. What amp output would b best to run this system. I also do plan on adding a 4 channel to push my 4 kickers door speakers as well eventually.

A pair of D2 subs can’t wire to 1ohm it’s either 0.5ohm or 4ohm , as for your alt I recommend Singer Alternators An going as big as you can you don’t wanna end up having to buy something twice if you can avoid it.

A HO alt isn't gonna fix your issue. However, a 105 amperage alt for a suburban which is bigger than my Tahoe, is a joke. I just replaced mine this past week...I would have thought it would have easily taken a more HO one but notta.

Several things could be going on here. I would start with wiring your subs correctly to the amp....your amp more than likely can't handle a 1 ohm load.

Where/how is your gain set? It could be too high.

Size of power wire is also important....if it's too small, your restricting current flow...

Ground has to be good...bare metal to bare metal. A seat belt bolt is not good enough.

You can Email or Call GP Audio and they can make some adjustments to make the enclosure shorter and either deeper or longer on the Glue and screw...

Not at all, amplifiers have gain control to attenuate the output to safe levels.
