Hello all! I am about to install a small system in my daily. Its an '05 suburban with stock electrical system. I am going to do the big 3 and install a 1200w rms amplifier. From my experience with this era of GM, I'm gonna need a secondary battery to help my voltage. What would happen if i put a 14v audio battery near my amp? Would it charge properly? Am i better off with a 12v? Thanks for any input!

You must not have been around for those 12k posts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif
I'm also wondering why he would ask that.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Trolling?

You can run a 14v battery, you should just have a stepdown module for it.

You can also run 14v stock system with some cars without issues.

Some cars will start to have sensor issues in the 16v+ range.

But it can be done.

agreeded. The cells are 14 volts. as long as its at least 14.1 volts it will work. 16 volts isn't needed.
