Item(s) for Sale:

12" TC Sounds MASS underhung, D4 coils

Item(s) Description/Condition:

Sorry for the low quality pics, my phone does not do low-light content very well.

Low distortion, high output short coil/long gap with a copper sleeve in the motor. Sexy black anodized cone and a rubber surround, not santoprene like the Audiomobile version. Was built in 2007 and has never been mounted, never used. You will be the first to mark up the mounting holes when you install it.

I had planned to keep this driver forever but I have been fortunate enough to come across other TC Sounds underhung drivers that allow me to feel better about letting this one go. In addition to that, I am building some underhung drivers so I will have plenty for myself and should let someone put this to use.

You really need to experience what these sound like, they are perfect. Lots of linear excursion and still more dynamic excursion left over that doesn't sound at all like distortion. Just loud, low and super clean. They disappear when they need to and they dominate when they need to. Other MASS owners can attest to the presentation but you can also Google the review of the original Audiomobile MASS 2012 drivers from back in they day. They set a new bench mark for output & distortion that was pretty high and nothing really came close until the newer breeds of high excursion/power-hungry designs recently came along.

Most guys use these in sealed enclosures with good amounts of power but you can also use them in vented enclosures if you have a brain. Especially for home use.

Would 600W be enough for this in a sealed enclosure? Or would it need around 1000W?
600-800 is real nice, it would sound great on that amount of power.

You said, "one of." How many do you have? I'm guessing that you are keeping the best one(s).

I was able to log in fine, using Chrome if that helps. I don't know anything about the product at all, just found the info and shared the love. :)
