I wanna monitor temperature of my amp. But i dont know where i should stick the wired sensor. On or near the mosfets and where or, somewhere on the casing inside the amp?

Also, couldnt i leave the bottom cover off for better cooling?

For the wired sensor i placed it near the caps with gorilla double stick tape onto an empty spot on the board.

Also have a wireless temp. sensor and placed it onto what looks like a relay on tbe other side of the board where the electronics are. Placed it on top of the relay housing with the gorilla tape. Um lets hope it it dont melt off...[emoji15]

Come to think of it ill slip the temp. sensor circuit board into some heat shrink but but the tape wont stick well to the shrink.. Imma leave the bottom off for now.

(And so everyone knows, i dont fuse any of my wires. How fun!

Ur amp running at 154' degrees?
Yeah. This is on the hottest days. It reads higher on the side where all the electronics sit where the rca input/outputs are and, cooler where the caps are.

154.4° f and 134.4° f

20 degrees hotter on the other side.

measuring the board isn't going to tell you much. where you have the thermistor ("wired sensor"), move it to the heat sink, away from the caps. you can see on the other side of the board, closer to the ambient wireless sensor, there is a thermistor screwed to the heatsink (case) between the output transistors. that's what you are shooting for on the power supply section. (where i told you to put the "wired sensor") 95% of anything that generates heat is clamped to the case, or it would overheat in seconds and fry.

Not a whole lot of action on that front here if you're interesting in antique collecting. The hoarders have been collecting for a long time now...
