I bought a new trailhawk a few days ago, I couldn't find one with the alpine 9 speaker + subwoofer option that wasnt over 40k in the color i wanted. I decided to just go with the stock 6 speakers (2x 3.5" in the dash and 6x9's in both doors) I had all type s in my escape, installed everything myself and it was great, im looking to replace the stock jeep speakers with type r. I don't even know where to start with this project, there are 9 spaces for speakers in this vehicle, i dont see how i could get a 4 channel amp to play nice with everything. from my understanding the dash 3.5'' and door speakers share a connection somehow so im thinking a 4 channel to those and then adding a sub and amp in the back. I would probably have someone do the amp install because messing with the stock radio doesn't sound enjoyable.

Has anyone here done any audio work on a 2014-2015 cherokee? any advice?

you need to decide on what you want to do, keep 6x9's or convert to component 6.5's. im not gonna s--t on 6x9's if you can find a set that does what you want go for it, i cant say that i have done anything 2014-2015 but if yuor an audiofile you can put in somethng that is your fav song or fav gen and get an idea of what your missing. i would sugggest starting there put in a cd that you love listening to and go from there, whats missing, whats too overwhelming, do you want an aftermarket deck, do you want a front stage, in the end its what sounds good to you. i know what you listen to in a car audio shop doesnt sound exaclty what it will sound in a car but if it sounds like **** chances are it will sound the same way in your car, go with your gut, pick something that sounds good to you, i have personally found that a good percenage of the community here are more SPL over SQ, i feel there is alot of people leaning towards DC and FI, for there excursion and thats fine, my personally i will always lean towards SQ so there not high on my list, NOT that there not great companies and make great products i just am not looking for 180 db, im an experienced audiophile and have come back to my roots and am a SQ person in my mid 30's, take your age and what you like as far as what you like to listen to into consideration.

I'm located around the Syracuse/Rochester/Oswego area. I stopped into my local shop yesterday and got some guidance, I'm waiting on a quote from them to see what the damage is going to be.

Did you consider using the PAC AmpPRO 4, AP4-CH31? It will connect between factory amp and head unit and allow you to have RCA outputs for the amps.
