That's not what shifts, it genrally the pole and or top plate, I think you're fine unless it rubbing them I would say there's damage to the coil/former.

The biggest measurement I could get is .400 I used a very nice caliber so I know it's accurate.

My brand new zv4 magnets are not perfectly stacked either, I think it's fine I would check the measurement around the gap and see if it's consistent.

Yeah it's pretty good it is hard to measure 100% but it's less than 1mm maybe less than .5mm actually

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC.
Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
