They are rated at 1500 now, not sure if they changed the sub or just upped the rms on it, but I've heard of people running them on 2k.

Even if you have copper coil HDC's I'd throw more power at them. AQ3500.1 would work on a pair of subs or 2 2200's...

HDC3s need more power. Mine loved the AQ3500

get 4 audiopipe 2ks - they have 0 guage inputs and are about 135 each, will do about a clean 1700 each, strap 2 to each sub and you will be loud, i am running 2 on a sp4 while my alt gets rebuilt by dcpower.. and it gets very nasty loud! trust me these amps are nice

You can get the older aq3500 for around 500 used.

I would look into a used AQ3500, AB 450.1, DC3500, Crescendo 3500, Power bass xtr4000, Ampere 3800 or similar. Just make sure your electrical is up to par for the current draw. Your $500 budget is close-maybe save up and $100 and you will be much better off than the hifonics.

do yourself a favor and get rid of that idea, i'm tired of my BRX 2400 since i know my Zcon can get waaaay louder on a 3500 amp and even an AQ 2200.1 D Efficiency matters when it comes to getting loud! not just rms numbers.

Those amp dyno tests from amp test tuesdays are ****, gotta pass certified testing to be an actual decent amp, it only barely passed dynamic rms which almost any **** amp can pass nowadays.
