JBL W12GTI Subwoofer

This subwoofer is used and in pretty nice condition. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 perhaps. The sub works great and sounds amazing. There is a small scuff on the cone from the previous owner-it's not a puncture and doesn't change the sound.

About the only trades I'd be looking for would be Memphis Belle (the big one) or a Rockford 360.3

(List pictures in this section, 1st picture should be your username/date if you have less than 10 positive feedbacks with the i-Trader system or less than 10 references that you have sold to in the past. (These must be listed in your signature, or a link provided to a feedback thread listing these references)).

i have a pair of the 15" version and im pretty sure they are neo. i dont see how the sub could weigh so little being how big it is without it being neo.

and for refrence, these subs are monsters. i would buy this for my home theater if i had the cash

Matt

I'm not sure about the motor either and like Matt said given their size I'd find it hard not to be. As far as an amp goes I was looking at a PG Xenon 1200.1 or a JL 1000/1 which will do it's full power at 3 ohms.

EDIT-According to jbl.com "uses opposed dual voice coils in a neodymium magnetic field and handles an amazing 4,000 watts peak power (700 watts RMS)."

How can something be 700 rms and 4k peak what's the real power handling I've had a 12 and couple 15s in the past (newer models)

Because of the coil configuration. Once one coil leaves the gap, the other basically acts as a brake. Kinda crazy and way before its time, IMO.

I'll keep my eye on this, OP, as I'm moving up to the Bremerton area next week. What enclosure were you running it in?

I've been running it sealed-though I'm really tempted to build the ported enclosure to JBL spec.

Lol ported makes for a big honkin' enclosure, but I think you'd be pretty wowed by it.

Timing, man. Though if you could fit an 18", maybe we'd have something more to talk about //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
