In search of a 12" sub.

Budget is about 100-120

Running off a jbl 600.1

Going in a extended cab silverado, downfiring.

Box is 1.2 cu ft@38hz ported and 5.75 mounting depth

any suggestions?

Current dinosaur pioneer sub is overpowered and gets sloppy at high volumes

You will be limited with choices. 1.2 is pretty small for a 12. Not that some subs can't work in that small space, but at that price, you can't afford a sub that is optimal in 1.2. You might be better off sealing it up or making it for a 10. Alot of 10 inch subs will fit perfect in that.

I have two re 10s of course you only need one. There rated at 310rms but I gave them about 450 each and they handled it great. They sound best in a ported box. If sell you one pretty cheap. Or both and have em as a spare or run 2.

Id look at some of the New Slim Sundown subs.Ive also heard good from some experiencing from a good friend about the C2 subs.

Trevor, we have a 10" Radioactive sub in dual 2 or 4 ohm that may fit your needs. It does require a little more mounting depth than you have posted but it is rated for 600 wrms, has a 2.5" voice coil, etc. if you are interested, we could work something out to put it into your price point. I guarantee you won't be let down by this sub.

if you add a baffle for a 10 on the box it will leave you with 6.5 mounting and i would go with the soundqubed on 1.2 ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How would the DCON do?It's slightly over budget about $30.National back order tho.would fit with the added baffle

If the Dcon was ready, it would be a top 3 choice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif But I would suggest taking a look at the Sundown SD-2. I don't think we have had a single customer have one fail who used them properly.
