New guy with weird problem!

Hey everybody!

Brand new here, as I always been able to figure out things on my own!

....... Not this time though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I just installed a Pioneer Avh4300dvd in my 2004 Silverado.

It has the Bose system and had the 6 disc changer before I pulled it out.

I used the axxess gmos-01 to compensate for the Bose system/on-star/chiming.

The unit works fine except for a small problem:

It's loud.

Really loud.

The chimes when I start the car are ear busting and when the volume on the head unit reaches 10, it's super loud. (It goes up to 46!)

Any ideas?

I'm completely confused!

Thanks for your help,

Frank

That is strange...I doubt is has anything to do with the head unit, more like in the axxess part. I know with some of the new PAC parts they do the same thing with the chimes. Is it just the chimes that are crazy loud?

Are you sure you have a GMOS-01, I thought the BOSE needed a GMOS-04 or something of that nature. Been out of the game to long. But I believe the section in the guide posted above about the pot need to the wire harness still applies.

It's a good possibility that I need the 04...

That's the one they gave me at best buy but it was 100+ bucks.

I had an 01 and everything wired the same and the unit said 02 and up GM so yeah....

Not sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I think this is a common problem. A friend of mine had to buy that unit to put in his Grand Prix, he said it was extremely loud, too.

By the way OP, if you need the 04 unit, I'll buy 01 off of you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1. The GMOS-01 is for NON-Bose systems, the GMOS-04 is for Bose systems.

2. There's a potentiometer on the GMOS module to adjust the input sensitivity (gain).
