Silverado custom doors

Yooooo

Built these doors for my boy Cameron's 03 Silverado

3x 6.5s, 2 super tweets, some suede, bed liner, etc.

6.5s are crossfire mpx's if I remember correct. Tweets are sound streams

Anywho, onto teh pics

Started off like this

Me workin on em

Resined

null_zps6c6d4447.jpg

First of 3 total layers on these doors, they are heavy as fuck but I didn't want them to ever, ever come apart so he could run these door panels for as long as he wants

null_zps29548573.jpg

I was laying down lots of fb mat at one time so I would pool the resin like this picture then once I dropped about 2-3 layers of mat in there it would soak it all up and lay up really nice.

Holes cut, MDF rings glassed in, again 3 layer thick so the tweets had a solid mounting surface, these bitches are heavy guys. Like 4 pounds a piece heavy, that's alot of weight on a plastic door card so I had to reinforce them

Doors sanded down and all the body work that needed to be done, is done by this point

See now if these were getting painted obviously I'd have alooooott more body work ahead of me but with bed liner you won't be able to see any of these imperfections so I stopped at this point

Memphis for the tweets, probably gonna be a sundown 50.4 soon

Wired up

I cut out a piece of paper that matched the magnet, use painters tape to tape the paper to the magnet, gorilla tape that would hit the metal door skin, put the door panel on, and pushed the mid through the mounting hole till it hit the door skin, needed about 1/2 inch of clearance. So I had to use an angle grinder and cut out some of his inner door skin for clearance.

All cut out

**** jeff, these look sweet! Great job bro!
Thanks mayne

Where did you get the bed liner? What kind is it?
Autozone actually, it's called Herculiner, I use it on boxes, people's beds, all kinds of sheit

I've done a piece of MDF in it, dragged it behind my truck for about a mile and it barely scratched it at all, it's only 33 a can too.. Great stuff I highly reccomend it

whats he got in the bed?
4 DC level 4 15s on a Crossfire 8k, does a mean *** hair trick

Here's a vid

Thanks man!

So Cameron decided he wanted to add some additional shit into the truck

relocated the air bag switch to the glove box

chopped it up, glued and bondo

test fit

plasti dipped, he wanted a rough look to it to match the bedliner but i didnt have any at the time, will probably go back and redo it later but for now, this is how it sits

in the truck, switch to turn it off on the right, bass knob on the left

MLA turned up

another angle

He got rid of the memphis and got a crossfire 600.4 for the tweets, talk about some power lol
