Precision Power Ingenix double DIN P-771NX

Still have it any word on if it's a good hu I'm running the ss VR-738NB which started out great but now I'm having problems out of it and must replace it which ***** because I spent 300 plus install not even a year ago.

I've got the P-771NX in the shop today. I just took my first look at it and I'm impressed. They really put some effort into the packaging, and I like how the buttons on the faceplate feel. I was concerned they would feel plasticy and mushy but they give a good solid click.

After an extremely long wait time, the first of the new Precision Power head units is here! Right now due to limited shipment only the double DIN model is available, and today I have just one unit up for grabs.

I've had this head unit in my car now rather than the bench for about a week. I've begun to appreciate some of the things that set these Ingenix units apart, like the picture-in-picture feature(very useful for controlling music while the navigation is on screen), the way the power stays on for a few seconds after the ignition is turned off(you don't have to wait for the unit to reboot if you cycle the ignition), the quality of the screen(high resolution, good brightness).

how is it comparable to the pioneer avic line on screen resolution?

They both use 800x480 WVGA for the screen resolution. A Soundstream Product Specialist wrote that the 2013 double DINs(Power Acoustik, Farenheit, and Precision Power) all use "high def screens of 720p or better depending on the unit". As I understand it this means the screen could be run at an even higher resolution than WVGA natively.

even if they say 800x480 you can tell the difference on the non ingenix double dins from maxxsonics and they are kinda grainy, I have not seen these ingenix screen, i was wondering from your perspective are they the same clarity as the pioneer avic lines or the kenwood ddx lines?

Thanks

I don't sell or have any experience with either Pioneer AVIC or Kenwood DDX head units so I can't answer that question. I made a really rough HD video showing the P-771NX. It really doesn't do it justice.
