I have one sony stereo that will play using any usb stick and another that will only accept sony branded usb sticks.

On your link to sony, click compatibility and then select usb. Scroll down and get one of the sticks listed there. You should be able to find them on amazon.

 
the problem is that sony xplod cd players only read 128 folders from a usb stick. so that mean any other folders that come before the music folder gets counted as a readable folder..and I have no idea if it's even possible to change the folder order
