is there a substitute for 0 gauge wire?

your question was worded rather vauge.

I think what you are asking was "can I use something as good as 0 gauge automotive wire that is not automotive wire?"

The answer is yes you can use welding wire, many have done it. Wire is wire (generally)

Now if you are looking to just save some money you could post a thread in the "WTB" section looking for wire.

I have a run of 0 gauge that I got on a trade that I am not going to use and would sell cheaper than you buying new and I am sure many others do as well.
