Recommendations for radar detectors?

As the title states, I'm in the market for a radar detector. I've never bought one so I'm in need of advise from those who know what the good stuff is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm not too concerned with budget but the cheaper the better. Thanks in advance.

Beltronics Pro RX65, best one I have ever owned. I have had mine for 6 years and its still going strong. Haven't gotten a speeding ticket while using it.

 
Thanks I'll definitely look into this model. Would you say these are better than escorts? I've done a bit of research and both brands seem to be up there so just curious.

Radar detectors are tough to evaluate. A large variety of models and brands are used by a wide spectrum of users-from truckers to weekend warriors-each of which has their own ideas on what works best. In the last couple years, the technology has changed tremendously. The hardware keeps getting smaller, but not so small that will disappear any time soon. The hardware required to detect the microwaves emitted by police radar equipment won't fit inside of a smartphone.
