I just finished the install on my all-Alpine system tonight -- 2 Alpine PDX-F4's, Alpine 910 NAV HU, door speakers are Alpine comps in the front and type-R's in the rear. One of the amps is bridged to run the two subs, the other is running the four door speakers.
System ran fine for couple hours while I was buttoning the truck bak up, putting tools away. Set output levels, some basic audio setting on the 910 HU, then took it for a drive to really push it volume wise. SQ was pretty good, then the amp running the 4 door speakers shut down. No power light. The amp running the subs is still on and working fine.
Checked voltage to the amp with my meter -- OK. Checked fuses -- OK (visual and checked continuty with my meter). Key off, back on, power light on the amp flashes briefly, then turns off.
Wondering if this is the "Alpine Safe Mode" I have heard about. It had plenty of time to cool and wasn't that hot to begin with. I'm thinking it's either a problem with the remote wire or maybe a connector fell off one of the speakers in the doors and now it shuts of because it doesn't see a balanced load (???).
Funny, I thought the one driving the subs would be the problem. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.
