O ****. Could this happen from jump starting? I had to jump start the **** out of my car this morning cause I left my lights on. Just read this on Wiki...

also, that loose battery terminal isn't helping any
looks to me you havent done the big 3 and ur pulling too much current between ur alt and battery. i have seen them burn in half!
