Sundown vs. Soundstream?

I'm looking at a Soundstream DTR1.3400D and a Sundown SAX-1200D to power my 18" with 4,000 watts RMS. I don't think i'm ever going to be able to fully power it because of the car I have, and i'm on a budget, so I found the sundown for $630 and the Soundstream for $350.

The Soundstream says 2200W @ 1 ohm, and the Sundown says 1200W @ 1 ohm. But seeing as how the sundown is considerably more expensive, I was thinking, even though it puts out less power, if maybe it's more reliable than the Soundstream that puts out more power? Which one should I get?

Side note: the soundstream is also 3400W @.5 ohms, but idk much about amps and stability and all that crap, is that dangerous to have it at .5 ohms?

where did you see that price for that sundown? lmao, **** pay 400 shipped for a saz2000d, you looked at their site MSRP pricing didnt you? the 1200 is 375 shipped, e-mail jacob get a saz2000d for 400 shipped.

First thing man is i would never mix diff. amps powering the same sub. Never even thought about it now that i "am" thinking about it. And im going to say yes the sundown is a better build quality (just b.c. i have read about them here) ..... BUT if anyone does have any input on the SS 3400 Tower amps i would like to know.... Who has exp. w/ the SS?

Ok well my questions still stands. The sundown is more expensive and supposedly less power.

why are you comparing a 3k watt amp with a 1.2k watt amp in the first place? besudes, the sundown is only 25 bucks more than the ss amp. idk where you saw a price that high, lmao.

do what i said, email jacob and get a saz2000d for 400. will do 2300-2500 @ 1 ohm.

I'm comparing them because i'm looking for a 2500-3000 watt amp, and a 3000 watt sundown is way out of my price range, but I've heard they're extremely reliable, so I thought a 1200w sundown might be better than a 3000w soundstream. You people need to learn to read....

You need to research better...hell you can find used Crescendo 3K's (basically a Sundown 3000D) for around 475$ ....you would have to be a complete dumbfuk to pay 630$ for 1200 watt amp.

you need to learn to read, how could a 1200 watt amp do more than a 3000 watt amp?
