Can someone school me on wattage really quick?

I feel like a huge n00ber for asking, but it's been in the back of my head for awhile, cause I've never really been clarified on it.

Ok, let's say I have this Kicker zX1000.1 amp running 2 Diamond Audio DVC 12" subs they run 600/1200 max

so if I'm running them both bridged in Parallel how many watts is each actually getting, (the amp puts out ~1120 watts) disregard voltage drops, etc...

Are each subs getting the full 1120 watts, or does it disperse between both of them?

Seriously, I feel like such a noob now for asking that, though, but I'm trying to know exactly why things work the way they do with car audio.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif

Generally it's about half if you double the ohm load. So probably 1000-1100w @ 2ohms. It's a good amp though.
yeah, no doubt, but I just wanna get something that will at least power these subs to their full potential, the kicker amp I had was 1100watts already, the 3500D seems like overkill though, and it's also pretty $$$$

I think you need to get a few things straight before you go amp shopping.

Are these Diamond D6's? And dual 2's?

You said "bridged" and parallel. Subs don't bridge, amps do. And a mono amp is not bridgable so what do you mean by bridged.

I guess what I'm getting at is are you sure the subs were wired correctly for a 2 ohm load? (http://images.the12volt.com/12voltimages/2_2ohm_dvc_2ohm.gif)

If you were correctly wired for 2 ohms then the subs were getting very near rated power. Going to a significantly more powerful amp would give you a whole lot more output IMO, but it would increase the odds of damaging the subs by a lot.

I would verify the wiring is/was correct, and that the enclosure type/size is suitable for the sub.

I put a d615 in for a friend recently and was very impressed at a little over rated power.

The subs are in parallel, when I say bridged (I'm used to it being called that around here) is running a pos and negative to sub#1 then combining a second set of wires to make a continuous round to sub#2, that's all I meant by bridged.

I think ill just get someone to repair my zx1000.1 , I'm using a orion colbalt 800D for now, I missed my subs, cause tas just swapped out my old blown ones for two brand new ones.

Yeah I'd say they should have moved... no excursion?

Do some research on Ohm's Law, it will give you explanations and formulas to help you with a lot of resistance, current, voltage, power, etc. problems.
