Ok, so first off,I am new. Here's what I got.

2 JL Audio W3 15s. (15w3d4) in sealed box. 1.91 cubic ft/chamber

1 Power Acoustik Bamf 2000 Mono

8 Gauge from battery to amp.

This was my starter system, and it just isnt enough!

I really wanted to go with one Orion HCCA 12.4.. I could get one for 300. But then I realized with the 4 ohm coils, how in the world could I get this thing 2000 watts??

My second option would be an mtx 9500 but, a lot of people say these really do kind of ****

My 3rd option was 2 RE SE 12s in a ported box. Anyone think this is good? Also? could you recommend an amp? I want more bump, and I'm on about a 600 dollar budget. Help!

I could get a new amp too. I can sell this amp to a friend for 100. Really I just want more bang at around 1200 watts rms, possibly more if it is a good deal. I'm just not sure what to do. BTW I drive a small ford contour. So would like 2 12s instead of 2 15s.

i just did a diamond audio d6 10 that i got off ebay for 140. im fairly impressed so far. the 12's tempted me, but i stuck with the 10. 2 12 inch d6's in around 3.5 cubes ported would get down i'll bet. the 10 gets lower than i expected.

Does anyone know how to power the Orion HCCA 12.4?
2000-2500 rms would get one moving. So something like an AQ2200d, a battery or two, and a decent alternator. Gets pricey fast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have looked at diamond 12s before but I saw a lot of cheap ones, so I thought maybe they weren't as good as I've heard. As for upgrading my electrical? Would I just need to buy a 200A alternator? I'm guessing there is much more to it. What do you guys thing of 2 RE SE's ported? I basically want the best I can get with either 1 or 2 12s. My friend told with that with only 8 gauge going to my amp and 14 gauge speaker wire, I'm only doing about 350 rms to my JLs. I spent about 490 on that set up altogether.

But it says 4 ohmx1 is only 740 watts RMS? Doesn't the Orion need like, 2000?

to run 2krms you'd want a nice alternator. 200amps should be fine. Then also a big Low ESR battery. Such as a large Kinetic or something similar. also 2 runs of 0 gauge.

Probably looking at $600-800 to get the charging system perfected. Then 300-600 for an amp. Then obviously the subs themselves.

I like my pm'd idea better ha.

Signal flow should be HU to DSP to amps. You would lose the ability to EQ and time align the sub with the DSP unit if you bypassed the DSP.

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...
