What's Your Comfortable Listening Level?

I'm just curious how loud you guys like to listen to your music...This is given a perfect electrical system, meaning you are getting the full RMS wattage from the amp, and on a typical set of components that are of an average efficiency and normal sound reproduction. It is also given a system's loudness that varies solely on account of an increase or decrease of wattage. I'm just trying to take out a couple variables that will keep the smart-ass posts out of the thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Just be realistic, and tell us what your perfect daily music listening level is, according to watts. I can see this being controversial, so please no flaming, don't take this too seriously lol

For me, I like 75-100wrms to each speaker, maybe even 50wrms. For my sub, I'm fine with what I currently have for short trips (1250wrms, the most I have ever had in my car...), and I would probably be fine with more, but I have not experienced more. For long trips, I probably wouldn't like anything over 500wrms.

...Which brings me to something else I forgot to mention. Saying "as much as I can get" is perfectly acceptable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I've had a pair of infinity coaxials // jl evolution 6x9s in the rear.

both running off of 75w rms, also had a dc lvl 4 running @ 1000w rms

It was enough sub output for me but... I think the front end left something to be desired. I think maybe 200w for midbass would be more suitable.

Mmhmm. I have absolutely no midbass right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Alas, my system is only temporary as I am in the process of selling my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The warden was on the RD 3250 @ .5 ohm and my earthquakes were on my SAX 125. My gain was usually as high as possible without clipping on the sub, and then on my Alpine i listened to it @ 28, my highs were set to max @ 30ish and my lows gain is always adjustable from the drivers seat.

Listening level has very little to do with power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I rarely agree with this man, but hes right.

My normal listening level would be with the door speakers at about 75% of their potential and the sub at about 25%. Depends on the music really. Rock music or country ill turn the sub all the way down just about. Sometimes ill turn the subs up full tilt but they overpower the door speakers, need moar power so im gonna add a new 4 channel sometime.

well when we are talking about the wife its usually a -24/db octave slope with ear plugs in and those big ear muff looking things over it, but only when its nagtime.

and the stereo, its vol 40 out of 42 for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif go loud or go home!
