The $500 dollar 4 15's build

I'll start it off by saying I wanted to do a large build on a low budget. And I figure 500 for wire, amp, and subs is a pretty low budget build.

The box will be 18.4 cubes before all displacements. And will have interchangeable ports. With no port plug in it is tuned to 53hz with 328 sq. inches of port. I plan on building a 32hz and 44hz tuned port. I will be redoing my highs and mids also at a later date.

The subs are 4 15" Crunch GPV D2 subs (Yeah yeah I know "Crunch?! WTF DOOD?! You should of got a BTLLEVEL5NightShadeMT!?" But I done those before why do the same old thing? The amp is a single Audiopipe 15001D (yup no more than 1500 watts for all 4 subs!)

I've been wanting to do the same thing. That was the budget I was gonna use too, but I didnt' think I could find that much sub for that; besides the fact that 4 15's aint gonna fit in my trunk. Interested to see how loud you can get it. We should have a $500 shoot-out. Lol.

I thought about posting up a $500 "challenge," but there is really no way to verify the prices that people pay since it will most likely be used equipment. Lord knows you can't trust ca junkies. Lol. Then again, it's not like it's for the world championship and a million dollars. Hmm, maybe I'll get a trophy made up...

Agreed. You could always require them to purchase them brand new and not allow "insider discounts." That way even the newbs can read through it and use google to buy products. The only prob with requiring new products is that nobody is gonna want to spend 5 bills on stuff that only costs 5 bills. You know what I mean? Lol. We'll just have to use the honor system or fair market value to be eligible for the big bad ass trophy I am gonna get made //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

More pics of those subs? I havent been very impressed with maxxonics stuff after trying other cheap brands. Pyramid makes some beast budget 15s. PW1586x, look them up.

Ya I actually thought about those Pyramids but I was wanting something that came with a warranty in case I blew my subs up and Maxxsonics CS is easy to work with. These subs are 700rms each so if I wanted to I could throw another AP1500 on them, we shall see how they like the wattage they get with just one amp for now.

Thanks Fozz! Hopefully it turns out well. If they are successful in this build I think I may do a 4th order wall in the future.

I purchased all the subs and the amp new online. All come with warranties. I am huge on buying used but truth is used they aren't much less and don't come with a warranty.

 
nice budget build looks like its still gonna get pretty loud though....i'd say 145's all day.....but i've owned this old flea market 2chan 1000wt crunch amp for about 3 years and its still kickin...(best amp i've ever owned lol)....i've even had it wired at 1ohms bridged and beat on it for days, and it's still goin strong...(i've got a hifonics 2000brutus just chillin in my room, and i'd still never sell this lil amp...lol

 
nice build so far i defintely like the budget builds like mine i roughly paid 500 for everything the most expensive item was the touch screen kind of wish i got a bigger amp but hey you like and you learn
