Kicker Solo Classic Subs

im got a pair coming to me, but i might sell them. im going to try and test em out a little before i sell it.

I had a 15" awhile back... Hated it and sold it, Only got about half what I paid for it..

Was hoping it was gonna be like the original rounds I had back in the day but it wasn't imo..

I just didn't like the sound..

Kicker's distort real bad when you push them hard. The cone makes a flapping sound on all of them. Can't stand them. Kicker is way overrated! Hell anybody can make a speaker loud but can you make it sound good under stress is the question? Very few companys can do it.

that was what I didn't like about my L7 15". Took plenty of power and got loud, but was a bit sloppy. Went to 3 10" JL W6's and they were just about as loud on 1500 watts but were a helluve lot tighter.

i had 2 kicker classics and they do not sound bad.

they do not make that flapping sound at all i had them in the recomended box off of my orion 2500d at 4 ohms. they sounded great and got decently loud for a small sealed set up

I used to have the old kicker solo classics back in 2000 and they flapped like that too. You better make sure you put them in a small azz box or you will rip the surrounds off of them too. The box controls the cone movement on these subwoofers like none I have ever seen before. Kicker subwoofers preform like they are in free air all the time. Thats why the cones rattle like hell on them.

See, I don't know... I had a pair of the 2 ohm C series solo 15's wired down to 1 ohm back in the day in 1.5 per sub sealed running of a Orion HCCA 225 in a s-10 blazer and thought they sounded great, Tight bass and clean...They barely moved and were putting out plenty of bass.

These new ones were sloppy I thought, it was moving like crazy but output seemed weak. for the New classics they reccomend 1.25 verses the 1.5 the old ones liked.

I have ran the old C series and D series,. IMO the D Series was the best sub kicker ever made. they got loud in a tiny box and sounded great.. Never had a problem with any slapping noises. One thing u had to make sure of was the box was AIR TIGHT, Buddy did a 155 with 6 of them in 1.5cuft boxes

There isn't any subs out there that sound good when running full tilt on a vid . They make all kinds of crazy noises. My cvx 10 never makes any flapping noises. Maybe you have your gains set wrong?
