THE WHOLE THING!!!
Yep, you read that correctly, I'm throwing a little SQ in the mix this time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

After 3-4 years of competing and not really having a daily install that was both comfortable for myself and a passenger and didn't sound like ass, I finally decided to build something new.

This all started after the maxxsonics show when I picked up some nice equipment for mega cheap and thought that I should actually USE the stuff.

Now this is just the beginning, as I do plan to revamp the front stage/highs amp as well.

As for the new equipment, it will be:

-6 MB Quart DWC204 8's powered by the zx2500 @ 2.6 ohms

-MB Quart RSD 213 5.25's replacing the kicker KS 5.25's

-Seas Prestige 1" textile dome tweeters replacing the harsh kicker titanium tweets that are in the A-pillars

-And, hopefully, an MB Quart DSC480 running the tweeters and mids ACTIVE! This is my hope anyways, but in case I don't I did pick up a set of bi-ampable crossovers at the maxxsonics show.

This is going to be a simple install because I don't have the room for kick pods or door pods, so the mids have to remain in the dash.

Anyways, on to the pics!

The first thing I started on was the new sub enclosure. I wanted to keep it simple, so it will be sealed. This is also due to space constraints since I wanted to keep my seat pretty far back.

How the subs will fit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I got the box installed tonight and I must say I am IMPRESSED for some mega, MEGA cheap 8's. I got these guys for $5 a piece!

So far they are very solid, good response, and overall sound very nice. Don't take a whole lot of power, but I'm not too concerned about that right now anyhow. However I do plan to upgrade to some beefier 8's eventually. I'm still a basshead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's nice to have a daily install for once. The single 10" was loud and all, but it always had 2 problems. 1) I couldn't have a passenger because the seat was all the way forward and upright, and 2) It sounded like ass and had a very narrow bandwidth.

Also, here's 2 crappy vids that I took. I must note that it sounds much clearer in person, my camera isn't the greatest for vids.

This is the type of music I normally listen to, which is another reason I decided to ditch the fart box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Needs a double baffle and more bracing bish
Double baffle will come after I finish everything up, and it actually does have 2 internal braces. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

nice, and you got one hell of a deal on the subs.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

i may be able to get 4 re 8's on the cheap to and may use them in the wifes car.

seems to be and 8" sub bug going around.

probably a 133 on the TL. With a little tweaking, Im sure youll manage a 147. lol

Srsly, TL it, just for shits a giggles.

If it broke a 130 i'd be surprised. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

But I'll TL it eventually I'm sure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

:(my ears hurt from just watching the video.
Yep, harsh tweet combined with a crappy video camera. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It doesn't sound AS bad in person. Hell, I got the treble on the headunit at -4 out of 6, lol.

Hopefully going to the textile tweeter with a better crossover network will help that.

Looks good Tommy.

This going to be doing 150s too? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
