im about to build a custom fiberglass set up for my 2 15" comp vr's...then it occured to me...what about the spare tire? if i go through with this will my spare tire be unaccessable..cuz this is a daily driver so i need that option...any ideas or help would be great

There are ways to make the spare tire accessable. It depends on what kind of car though as to how to accomplish it. Sssssooooooo........what kind of car ya drive? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ahhhh.......... the civic. most I have done were simply a false floor with the enclosure attach to it. And the false floor attach to the car with a piano hinge. You can motorize it if you like also . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah man. A false floor is simply a piece of wood 1/2" - 3/4" thick depending upon the weight of your enclosure. That is cut in the shape of your hatch floor. Take a compass and trace the perimeter of your hatch floor on some cardboard, and make yourself a template. Then trace your template on your wood. And get to cutting //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Once you got that done. You can attach it with a piano hinge right behind the back seat. Then build your enclosure on the false floor. leave yourself some sort of handle to lift it with.

or yu could relocate your spare to a different part of the hatch. To me the false floor is easier. But others like to move it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks for the help..is there anything else i should know about that....i'll keep it simple, the car is alright tight as it is...i keep the tire where its at

If you use a hinge. make sure you don't drill into the gas tank. It will be right under the area your working //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Only problem there is if he ever gets a flat its a big pain in the ass to unhook your amp and pull out your box in order to get to your spare. Trust me I had to do this along side I-79 one time.

Me too and it ain't no freakin fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif especially if your enclosure is heavy as most //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
