5x7 or 6.5...?

anyone have a short but technical explanation of the sound wave difference between oval and round?

there's been square (kicker I think) subs that sort of worked ok, but I think it was just a gimic.

There isn't any kind of sound difference in round vs oval.

If you compare a nice 6.5 coaxial with its 6x9 counterpart the 6x9 will just have a little more "sub" to it because of the extra cone area.

"An oval speaker has a less pronounced cone break up mode and smoother frequecy response as a result. Also the edge ring back cancellation at the top end will be reduced improving high frequency extension but this is somewhat outweighed by the longer distance to the edge in the other dimension."

6.5" are better for sq compared to 5x7".
how? you being an ID fan Hoodlum i'ma use ID as an example //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif between the xs57 and the xs65, the xs57 has a little more midbass 70 to 110 Hz but sq wise they are the same everywhere else.
