Getting ready to start the install on my nephews 94 civic.

He's 15 I found him the car for 1500 bucks, he got a paint job, new windshield, and new mirrors put on for another 1200. And I'm gonna do the system for him

System is gonna look like this....

3 Sundown SD-1 10s

Sundown SAE 1000d

Sundown SAE 100.4

EFX 6.5 componets up front

EFX 6x9s on the rear deck

I promised Jacob it would be the sexiest install on his site thats what I'm gonna give him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Tweeters are going to be molded into the a pillars with midbass in the doors running passive.

Will be building a false floor and flush mounting the amps, doing a fiberglass sealed box for the 10s...box for the 10s should look something like I did for the back of my old truck...similar to this

I know you can't really see the shape of the enclosure but it will be VERY similar.

Subs will look to be sunk into the enclosure.

I figure this will be a GREAT setup for a 15 year old haha!

pics of the car and the tear down to come tomorrow

we own a heating and air business. And all the old units we change out go into our yard behind our house.

After a few months we get a nice little collection up and we break them down and scrap everything.

They have copper/aluminum coils in them that go for around 1.75 per pound and the coils average 45 pounds each. So you can make a good chunk of change off of them.

He broke them down and got around 4200 bucks out of it. I'm doing the whole install for him...to help out Jacob and to give me a chance to try some different things with some fiberglass.

wheres dude gettin so much money?
That's not much money. Especially if he's not really paying for the work (I'm assuming beer money will be exchanged, but not much else). I could have easily payed for the car, the initial fixes, and the equipment when I was his age. No bills at the time afforded me a lot of expendable income. Those were the days:crap:

I'm sorry but unless you grew up when there were no labor laws or your parents own a business or you were so spoiled as a kid that ur parents gave you a 3 figure allowance than at 15 you would not have been paying for that....sounds like ur newphew paid a lil high on a windshield mirrors and paint...1200 is way high.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

good luck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i dont see how you are doing the owner of the company any favors but sounds like the kid put a little elbow grease into things and made out pretty well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well, jake is hooking me up good on product for my other build...(i have about 10 saz 1500s sittng here and just a "few" nightshades on the way) so I figure I kind of owe him a nice install for his website.

Looking at his site where there aren't any real cool installs, having something I built on a manufacturers page as a featured vehicle would be kind of cool.

Plus my nephew loves the idea of it haha.

1200 for the paint, windshield, and mirrors was pretty cheap around here. Have you priced body work/labor/paint/clear recently? that stuff is super high now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

1200 high for paint? RIGHT... I painted my truck a while back and just materials would have been way more. Luckly I didnt have to pay for materials and doing it your self helps.

well i've just priced paint for my car and its only 40 a qt. clear is 89.90 for a gallon and primer is only 40 for a half gallon...so by my calculations 120+90+40=230...and i do all my own labor and these are dupont paint from Finishmaster.
