Okay here's the story. I just bought myself a new winter beater //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I purchased a used 1999 Chevy tracker ( cheapest 4x4 ). Now seeing as how a friend and myself will be tearing apart my regular vehicle once I get it, to use as our demo vehicle. I figure I will be driving ye ole tracker quite a bit. I have a few odds and end pieces of equipment laying around that I intend to throw in the tracker. I would like to keep the back seat. Which brings me to my problem. Anybody seen any cool installs in one of these little b@stards that still retained the back seat ? How was the enlcosure built ? What kind, and where was the amp rack mounted ? I was thinking of building the amp rack into the rear door. But I'm not sure the door would support the weight. I've checked out sounddomain no dice. Everything that looked halfway decent has the seat removed. Everything else was prefab boxes and crap. Anybdy got any ideas ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Man, my friend had a tracker and you couldn't do **** with them. But an idea i have is make the biggest box you can fit back there, get some good subs that can fit in that depth and with that much airspace, then mount the amp under one of the seats.

I'm going to throw a 10w6 in a ported enclosure in the b@stard somehow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I was thinking of mounting the amps under the seats. But I'm worried about airflow. There isn't very much room under the rear seat. If I raised it up to make room for the amp rack. Everyones heads would hit the roof. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And I have never been to keen on mounting the amps under the front seats. Too much of a chance for something to get "accidentally" spilled upon them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm trying some test now to see if the rear door will be able to handle the extra weight. I think that would look really sweet to have the amps flush mounted in the rear door. But who knows ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, if your worried about people kicking and spilling **** on it you could always build a little plexi enclosure and put some fans in there to keep it cool. That would be cool to have it in the rear door though.

if your amps get hot enough that there wouldnt be enough 'air flow' under the back seats, then you have done something wrong.

air flow doesnt do anything

As mentioned above an amprack and cooling fans. Or you could gut the seat and make an amprack and partial enclosure with it add cushions . and feel sorry for anyone that has to sit there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Say what ???????? Take your amps and throw a blanket on top of them. THen see if they don't get hot. Do you normally mount your amps inside a closed box with no ventilation ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
