Ok so with the new amp for the hi's I need to make a new choice about speakers. Amp is rated at 50 x 4 rms (CEA compliant). From looking around this is what I have come up with. 4" in front 5x7" in rear is my size (ford ranger supercab).

Cheap - MA Audio - Cost = 80.00

Middle Ground - Polk db - Cost = 140.00

Higher End - JBL Power - Cost = 280.00

Basically, I can see good and bad points about each speaker set. MA Audio has very high sensitivity, good size tweeters, good power handling, and very low cost but I am wondering if quality might be questionable at that price. Polks seem pretty solid with a pretty good price but I am worried about the 4" speakers power handling as its rated at 35rms. The JBL powers look great and I know they can take the power but they cost a good penny.

My main concern is being able to be strong enough to not be drowned out by my Infinity 12 which is going to be right behind the seat without sounding like crap.

If you're willing to spend in excess of $250 why don't you consider component sets instead?

Also, are you sure those speaker sizes are right? Something sounds off. I've never heard of Ford using speakers smaller than 5.25.

its an 88 ranger
Out of the sets mentioned the jbls sound the best imo, but the jbl gto coaxes sound better than teh power series you posted. If it were me, I would get some decent 6.5 comps, and make do some minor modding to make them fit.
